A small, seamless mushroom worked in the round.
The mushroom is worked bottom-up in one piece. It begins with a magic ring cast-on, so the base closes with no visible hole. Eight sections divide the shaping evenly, with simple increases and decreases from base to cap. Any yarn weight works. The size depends on yarn and tension.

Slik strikkes den
Du legger opp 8 masker med magic ring og setter en markør mellom hver maske.
Stilken økes med 8 masker annenhver omgang, og strikkes så i glattstrikk til ca. ⅔ av ønsket lengde.

Hatten økes på samme måte. Du kan skifte til en kontrastfarge og strikke en flette i overgangen.

How it is knitted
You cast on 8 stitches with a magic ring and place a marker after each stitch.
The stem increases by 8 stitches every other round, then is worked in stockinette to about ⅔ of the total height.
An optional taper narrows the stem slightly before the cap.
The cap increases the same way. You can change to a contrast colour and work a lateral braid at the transition.
You stuff the mushroom before the hole gets too small, decrease until 8 stitches remain and thread the yarn through them.
You weave in the ends under the cap and shape it by hand. Steaming evens out the stitches.
